Improving Livelihoods through Inclusive Tourism

A movement towards inclusive tourism in Africa will:

  • empower local communities

  • stimulate economic development

  • nurture more resilient wildlife habitats

We aim to use travel as a creative catalyst to bring about systemic change.

Thandeka supports:

1) Investing in local businesses and providing them with access to information, resources and tools

2) Incorporating local communities into lodges as leaders, owners and financial participants

3) Building alliances between lodges and non-profits to facilitate more effective education and healthcare outreach

4) Localizing the sourcing and supply chains of food, textiles and artwork in order to create jobs, diversify economies and reduce carbon footprint

5) Including all national ethnicities into the culture and thought-leadership of safari life
